We have listed a few Frequently Asked Questions here along with the answers, if you have a question that's not listed on here then please get in touch with somebody listed on our contact pages.
Q: Where is Ampleforth swimming pool?
A: Ampleforth swimming pool is easily accessible by car:
Q: What do I need to bring on an evening river paddle session?
A: Most of the kit is supplied by the club for use on a river session, but some parts you will need to bring yourself. You will need to bring some form of swimwear to go underneath the kit, a pair of shoes you don't mind getting wet (not trainers, for a whole host of reasons) small simple shoes without laces are the best, a towel, and a dry change of clothes for after you come off the water.
Q: Can I keep my boat at the clubhouse?
A: Some members currently keep their boat at the clubhouse each week. You have to be a club member to do this anyway, but firstly you need to speak to Stuart or Paul (Can be found on the contact page) to find out if there is space.
Q: I have never paddled before, can I still come along?
A: YES! Of course you can. We always welcome new paddlers and you will soon be on the water under qualified supervision. Just bring a few pieces of clothing (see question 2) and come down on a tuesday night to get on the water.
Q: I have a few ideas of places for annual trips, who can I speak to?
A: We are always open to ideas from members about trips or other changes that might benefit the club. If you have an idea of some kind, you are best speaking to one of the committee who can pass it on to the relevant person or organiser. If you are an experienced paddler and you would like to arrange a club trip yourself, then we are open to this too, just speak to one of us to make sure it is all ok and we might even come along ourselves!
